Today I felt the best, most relaxed and in sync trot and canter with Devon until he broke gait at the canter. I feel he is enjoying playing tricks with me and I sympathize but this just won't work. I thought I had a good plan to prevent it--i.e. playing attention to my having an active neutral and catching the moment and cueing in a relaxed manner but he was too fast for me.
An opportunity for problem solving!
