1. The greater our (including horses and humans) capacity to handle our fear emotions, the more the love grows given that love and fear can't occupy the same space.
2. Protecting child and horse from pressure by avoiding it stunts growth in emotional fitness! (Dan vs current golden feeling???)
3. Jenny spoke of worrying about her horse's health--fear of loss for her--resonated with me as I tear up just thinking about Try aging.
Any way--spoke of components of emotion in depth and apparently there will be a plan/pack to help us delve into this for our horses (selves).
- Fear/spooking
- Anxiety/tension
- Frustration
- Anger
Anxiety as sorta mild form of fear can lead to fear--often right brain. Frustration can lead to anger for horses often left brain.
Strategies differ. Our tendency with a fearful horse is to quit rather than help them through it to a new confidence. For people fear can express it self in tension in stomach, heart, head. People ignore anxiety in horse which can escalate to fear and be dangerous. Also both people and horses can get physically ill if it is not addressed. Frustration: again tend to ignore in horses--can lead to anger and danger for human. For humans FRUSTRATION IS MISSING A TOOL/LACK OF A RESOURCE. Anger for horse may be overload of frustration and often human punishes them for it. Human: Jenny says anger is IRRESPONSIBLE.
